What does "wabi sabi" mean?

The Japanese have built their cultural aesthetic on the recognition, appreciation, and sanctity of things steeped in the beauty of things imperfect, impermanent and incomplete … they refer to this understanding as wabi sabi. In their view, beauty cannot be explained, it can only be experienced. It is about looking for beauty in daily life … a worn pair of shoes, a shutter with chipped paint. Imperfection is beauty.

How to find us

We are located in the Island Style Retail Center just east of the Navarre Bridge (toward Ft Walton Beach) on the north side of Highway 98 ( map ). The center is situated on Highway 98 between Taco Bell and Whitney Bank and contains Island Style Department Store, Wabi Sabi and the Cactus Flower Cafe Restaurant. We very much recommend both of the other shops in our complex. The Cactus Flower serves delicious California-style mexican food.
